Commit 2B Fit® offers a solution in the
prevention of childhood obesity and
promotion of overall wellness of children
and families.
Commit 2B Fit®, Inc. is a
non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated
to affecting positive change
in children and families by
encouraging increased
physical activity levels and
better nutrition. By providing
a fully integrated school,
family, and community
supported program, Commit
2B Fit® educates and
motivates children and
families to develop habits
that will lead to a healthier,
longer life.
Here's an unsettling fact: This could be the
first generation of kids to live shorter lives
than their parents! The good news is that
proper nutrition and increased physical
activity can help prevent many disease
related issues later in life. Through the
efforts of Commit 2B Fit® and our program,
we can help to create behavior and lifestyle
changes by:

Getting children to "Commit" to being physically active and making healthy food choices;

Providing rewards for progress; and

Reaching families with the same message through educational outreach and collaboration with both community and corporate

With a growing national need and the positive
reaction to Commit 2B Fit®, we are excited
about the impact that can be made in the
fight against children's obesity and the
promotion of overall children's wellness.

The success and sustainability of Commit 2B
Fit® will be realized in the immediate future,
as we continue to expand and look towards a
national initiative.

Commit 2B Fit® in 2005.

Together, they've
developed a model to help
create behavior change-a
model that integrates
school, home and the
community. For more

Commit 2B Fit® has
emerged as a winner in
providing a physical activity
and nutrition program that
has been embraced by
schools, families and the
community. In only four
years, we have been
able to introduce our
program of promoting
physical activity and healthy
eating to over 100,000+
students and their families
in South Florida.
Elly Zanin is a retired Physical
Education Curriculum
Specialist for Broward
County Public Schools (Ft.
Lauderdale, FL). As such,
she witnessed firsthand the
inactivity in today's children, as well as the
increase in childhood
obesity and weight-related
health issues.

Michelle Schecht comes
from a marketing and
management background,
specializing in solution-based
programs. From a personal
interest, she realized the
need to help educate parents
about making better nutrition
choices for their families
and the associated
risks of childhood obesity.

After four years of evaluation and a peer
reviewed article in the Spring 2008 issue of
the Florida Alliance for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation, Dance and Sport
(FAHPERDS) Journal, Commit 2B Fit® is a
proven, evidenced-based model.

"This program may very well be the
"Solution" program. It is easy to incorporate
into the daily teaching schedule, provides
interactive and entertaining learning activities
and is a comprehensive, daily approach to
creating behavior change. Finally, through
community activities and partnerships there
is on-going reinforcement promoting the
importance of healthy eating and an active
lifestyle. The first years of Commit 2B Fit®
have shown that it is possible to create
change in our students and for their families
if we provide on-going support inside and
outside the classroom." - Dr. Valerie George
